The Force -Chapter 6- Risking It

   -Chapter 6-

Risking It

Yes. All he said was yes, and walked away. I was really confused, but I decided not to bother him, I think he was already mad at me. I just went on with my die everything felt the same now. As days went on all I did was train, train, and train. I wish they would give us a time off, I missed my parents, I did think I’d miss them so much and their nagging. Now that there actually gone I feel really bad.

I couldn’t take it anymore I had to see them, I was going to make a special request to my head sergeant. If he said no I don’t even know what I would have done, so saying that he did say yes, but I would have to sneak past the gate which was guarded by patrol. He told me if I were to get in trouble I would get kicked out of the training camp, but I personally think it was worth the risk to see my parents.

The Force -Chapter 5- The Day

-Chapter 5-

The Day

Today was the day I talked to Jack, after I got up, had breakfast, I went over to him at the training course. I called his name, he turned around, saying I wasn’t supposed to talk to him. I told him I knew that, but before I did that, I had one question for him, and that was why he didn’t want me near him. He exhaled and said, once were in the battle field, if one of us were to lose our lives, we would be devastated, and scared. It took me a while to process all that, but after that I said, but we if we don’t stay together, we would have a higher chance of losing our lives. He told me he needed to think about it, and he’ll come to me with an answer. After that I went on with me training, trying not to bother him, as he told me. I was really eager to find out what his answer would be. I think he is going to say that, we could stay together, which is what I’m hoping for.

The Force -Chapter 4- Struggles

-Chapter 4-

Struggles

I saw him meet eyes with mine, he started to walk towards me, and he didn’t look to friendly. Once he came over, he said he didn’t want me anywhere near him, and he walked away. I was so confused, did I do something wrong, have I ever met him before. I really wanted to go over to him and ask what I had done, but I’d rather not tick him off.
Back to training as usual, as I was training, Jack, I overheard his name as he was talking to my head sergeant, he was part of my squad. I might as well quite, he’s in my squad, and I’m not supposed to associate. We have team work exercises, and I’m pretty sure were going to get teamed up, so great. I feel like my time in training got a whole lot worse than it already was. Just to make it easier for me, I asked my head sergeant if I can switch squads for personal reasons, he asked me what was wrong with his squad. I didn’t want to let him down, so I said never mind sorry for wasting your time sir. Tomorrow during training, I don’t care what he’ll do I’m going to ask him why he doesn’t want me near him, and that was that.

The Force - Chapter 3- The Decision

-Chapter 3-

I needed time think about what was going to do. I didn't want to die, I didn't have the bravery to go to war. I would probably be well known for what I had done. There are its ups and downs. I decided not to tell my parents about what I had heard, they would probably not let me go on with anything that had to do with the military. After the whole day walking around town thinking, I decided to go on with it. If I didn’t go what would I do instead, I had no idea how to do anything, and I have no intention to actually learn how to do something.
I told my head sergeant, and he was glad to have me back in training. If I was to go on I would have 2 years of training ahead of me. That two years to mentally, and physically prepare myself, to go to war. I really hope I can push through all the training, and become the best that I could be.
After a couple of days into training, I saw something that caught my eye, I saw a new rookie come through the gates, my luck had changed, it was another German Shepard, a pure breed. From the start I knew we had to be friends.

The Force -Chapter 2- Training

-Chapter 2-

Training

After enrollment I was supposed to go to my head sergeant, my teacher. I was assigned to Mr. Rolland. He was a Doberman Pincher, a very strict one at that. Since today was my first day I would do my evaluation. They would test my speed, my endurance, my strength, and my capability to take extreme pain. I think I did well, I would see it in tomorrow, with the rest of my breed. They had a board of test results in that category of breed, in my case German Shepard. I was excited to see how well I did compared to the other German Shepard's.
It was the next day and I ran out of my dorm, which I was assigned with no one in it. I came up to the board, looked under German Shepard, and there was one score, which was mine. I was the only German Shepard in the Academy. I was confused maybe it was a mistake, I ran up to my head sergeant and asked why there weren't any German Shepard's on the list besides me. He took me aside and told me that parents of German Shepard's don't let them into the academy because all German Shepards are in the front lines and there life expectancy is low. I was now scared out of my mind, what was I supposed to do?

The Force -Chapter 1- The Start

The Force

-Chapter 1-

The Start

I finally got in, after all that hard work I got into the Academy of Dogs In Training (DIT). They sent a letter in the mail saying we have accepted your pup to be in the Academy of Dogs In Training. Congratulations. That meant that I passed all my tests and tomorrow I would be heading off to training camp tomorrow. I was so glad I told my parents, they were proud of me, but also sad that I was leaving. I told them I would be ok. It was the next day and I was off. I packed my bags and walked to the academy. It wasn't such a long walk to the academy so when I can I will visit them, to make sure there doing alright.
When I got there, there were all types of dogs, but me I was a pure breed German Shepard, and I was proud to be one. I came into the sign-up office and waited in line to enroll. While was waiting in line I saw the head of the academy Mr. Hunnigan, a huge German Shepard, and I meant huge, he was twice the size of my father, and my father was a regular sized German Shepard. He came up to me my face was at his shoulder blades. He asked me if I was ready for anything that came my way, I was scared to see what would happen but I said yes. He nodded his head and walked away. I was now scared to see what would happen next in my training.

School Breaks

School Break

I am going to go off topic and talk about school breaks. Around five or six years ago school started in mid-September, now its starts mid-August. I feel like the change is worse for both students and parents. Parents need a break from taking their children to school, helping them, and making sure they get picked up from school. I feel like parents get stressed from taking their children to school, and making sure they have good grades. They need a longer break. For children, they dont want to go to school, they want a longer break.
For example my mother was getting tired of worrying about my grades if, not saying I get bad grades, I wasn't doing so well. She was also getting stressed from taking to me school. Before the shorting of summer break I would say she and other parents had more time to relax and recover. Over all I doubt anyone liked the shortening of summer break. I think the only good things that come from it is that we get to see our friends earlier and teachers get paid more.

Little Bear -Chapter 10- The Decision

-Chapter 10-

The Decision

Today was the day that everyone decided on how we were going to deal with the humans. Everyone gathered in the center of the forest, all of the different animals were here. We would vote with pebbles, the ones that were white meant that we were to fall back, the black ones meant we were to fight back. When the vote had started me and my parents put the white pebble, so did the rest of my friends. But Sly's family but the black one in, they wanted revenge on what they did to Sly. A lot of people were putting white pebbles in the center, which relieved me. When everyone had voted, a couple people volunteered to count. We were all nervous, when it came down to it the white pebbles won, then only one by 13, that was very close. Me and my friends were relieved, now we had to find a new home.
Were getting out stuff and heading out, we know about another forest, but its about two miles away. I really hope we will get there in time, I dont want hunters killing us. We were one of the first families to go, I was happy and sad at the same time, I didn't want to leave my home, but I didn't want to get killed. Rough  times are a head, and the path is going to be rougher.

Getting Worried

bullet. That meant humans were near, that was the worst thing that could happen in the forest. I quickly put sly over my back, and ran towards home. I came to Sly's parents and showed him his wound, Sly had many young brothers and sisters so we went to a private area. Sly spoke and said I already took out the bullet. After we patched up Sly he told us everything, he said he was avoiding us because he was being hunted for quite a while and didn't want the hunters to get near us. Sly was getting hunted and told no one. I was confused, we didn't he tell us, we could have helped, but I couldn't be mad at him, he was protecting us.
The rest of the group came, I told them the whole story, they were all scared. In this case we would have to have a forest meeting, to tell everyone in the forest. In this case we had two choses, we either fight back and scare them off, or we run somewhere far away. It wasn't up for us to decide, the whole forest had to vote on it. We all told our parents, which told other parents and so on. We would have our meeting tomorrow, we had to make sure everyone was aware of the problem. This was our second encounter with humans, before I was born. My parents told me they fought of the hunters, many died in the process. I really hope we decide to fall back, no one wants to die to humans.

Little Bear -Chapter 8- The Hunt

-Chapter 8-

The Hunt

I don't know if I should chase him or not, I decided not to but I would track him down and try to talk to him. First I would tell my parents that I would go help my friend, they told me it would be fine but my mom told me to be very careful, like a mother would. I asked the group if any of them would come and help me, they all instantly agreed. All of them asked their parents, and all said yes. We were off to help/find our friends Sly. Our first sign of help was his footprints, we knew that it was his by the missing toe on his front right paw. We followed for hours and hours, but they never stopped. We didn't know if it would ever stop, my back was sore from carrying Adam, and everyone was tired. We decided to take a break, and nap for a couple of hours, what could go wrong?
I woke with the sound of rustling in bushes, I woke everyone up. We all were ready for whatever that could happen. I slowly went closer and closer towards the bush, when I got close enough I jumped over ready to strike. Instead there was Sly, he was whimpering, everyone else came and asked what had happened. He didn't talk, we decided to give him some time, till then we would walk back home. He didn't want to get up, we looked and there was a huge cut in his hind leg. I looked like a ...

Little Bear -Chapter 7- Mysterious

-Chapter7-

Mysterious

After that fun day, the next morning we were all sore. We decided to have lunch together at the Sequoia Tree right next to my cave. Everyone was at the tree besides Sly, we all wondered where he was, and we waited for him for quite a while. We started to get worried, but there was nothing we could do. After we finished out lunch we all went for a walk by the river, then we saw Sly running in the forest. We all went after him screaming his name. When he heard us he turned around, his mouth was covered in blood. After that he just ran away, and there was no chance of us catching up with him. We all stood their confused, wondering what fox was up to and why he had blood around his mouth. We decided to call it a day, and wondered if he would show up tomorrow by the tree for lunch.
The next was no different, Sly did not show up. We talked over it and wondered if we should do something. But we all knew we would never find him, so we thought about it all day. Near the end of day after me and Adam walked everyone home we saw Sly, just standing their looking straight at us. We froze in shock, we didn't know what to do, we were scared. I finally manned up and asked him why he was avoiding us. He did not respond, he just stood there. After a moment he just started running at us. I was scared out of my mind, so was Adam. I told Adam to get on my back and hold on. I started charging at Sly, I was ready for something bad to happen. But he just ran right passed me into a bush and he vanished. What was up with Sly?

Little Bear -Chapter 6- A New Day

-Chapter 6-

A New Day

After my sick day I had to go out with my friends since the day was canceled thanks to me. All of us came by the creek to talk about what we were going to do. I told everyone we can do what we all want one by one. Everyone liked that idea so that's what we did. The first thing we did was go swim in the lake which wasn't that far, and of course it was Steven's idea, but we all like to go swimming. We played in the water caught some fish and relaxed. After we got relaxed and dried, we went to the next idea. Sly's idea was to go play hide and seek, we decided that I would be it, After counting to fifty I had to find them. I found Steven, then Adam, then Sam. But I couldn't find Sly, we looked for him for about 10 minutes but no luck. We all decided to just call his name and tell him we give up. After we said that he just came out of a tree, he was on the highest branch of a Redwood Tree. We would have never found him. Next was Adam's activity which was a race, we all laughed at the idea but we didn't make fun of him. Otter would call the times and be the referee. 3,2,1, GO!!!! I was off, but I was no match for Sly, he was so fast in a couple of seconds I couldn't see him. Once I got to the finish line I saw Sly standing there with awe on his face. Adam was the first one there even though he was a turtle and I didn't see him during the race. He said his technic was a secret after that we laughed and took a break. Next we had Sam's turn which was to see who could get there pray the fastest which was a weird competition  on but we wanted to try it. 3,2,1 GO. I went for a fish, as quick as I could I went to the river and caught a fish went to the meet up to only see Sam there with Sly. Sam was the first one there with a mole in her mouth  and Sly with a rabbit. Adam sadly couldn't play because he was a vegetarian and then Steven came with a clam which I dont know where he got. After we rested they asked what I wanted to do, and I told them I wanted to do there activities. They thanked me and all gave me a hug. After that we all walked home, it was the best day in my life.

Little Bear -Chapter 5- Sick Day

-Chapter 5-

Sick Day

The group planned a meet up at the pond to have some fun, but guess who got sick from eating poison berries, that's right me. Out of all days I had to be sick on the first day we had a meet up. Luckily Adam came by the den to see if I was ok. I told him you guys can go have fun, maybe some other time. He felt bad I knew he really wanted to go play with the group. After he left, my parents came into my part of the den. My dad was mad at me and told me I should be careful next time, my mom told him that everyone makes mistakes, and she was worried for me. She made me some soup with some herbs, which I thought was disgusting but I knew it would make me feel better.
After I ate my soup I went back to bed, and took a nap. When I woke up it was morning of the next day. I went outside to only see the group standing, they all ran to me and gave me hugs. They were all relieved to see me well and in a happy mood and so was I. They told me I ate some of the poisonous berries there are in the forest. I was lucky to be alive, it was my first near death experience.

Little Bear -Chapter 4- Meeting New People

-Chapter 4-

Meeting New People

After running away from those snakes with Adam, I thought we should find a group of friends so we shouldn't have to run every time we encountered the snakes. Me and Adam were searching the whole forest to try to find a group of friends, but every time we found a group they either disliked us or said they had no more room. That didn't stop us, we kept searching but after the whole day passed by we had no luck. But Adam had a great idea of making our own group, we decided we would go around asking people to join our group.
Adam and I met up at the lake where we looked for people to be in our group. Our first encounter was with an otter named Steven, he was a chill hip type of guy, he said he would join our group. Our first member, even though he could not help us in a fight it was ok. We kept searching while walking looking around we heard some rustling behind a bush. We saw two yellow eyes, we got scared , but to only see a fox, he told us his name was Sly. Sly would be a good addition to the group because fox and snakes were sworn enemies. We told Sly we needed more people in the group, he told us he had a friend so we waited for him to bring back a friend. When he came he told us not to panic, we got a little scared. He told us her name was Sam, she was cobra. We were all confused, a fox and a snake friends, but she was in the group which was all that mattered. We completed our group, we were all happy.
